Meet with speakers, sponsors, and other Arctic Encounter colleagues at an opening night reception to enjoy drinks, appetizers, and short remarks. Thanks to Platinum Sponsor and Co-Host, Alaska Airlines, guests will also enjoy a tour of the X̱áat Ḵwáani Salmon Livery, which will be featured and parked throughout the reception inside the hangar!
Parking at the hangar is limited. If you will be driving, please consider using the shuttle or Uber to avoid parking at the hangar. In cases of accessibility where driving to and from the reception is imperative, please park in front of the main office entrance.
This year, we are pleased to provide early registration check-in and badge pickup to VIPs attending the welcome reception on April 9. We encourage you to avoid the long registration check-in line on the first morning of the conference and instead pick up your badge at the venue prior to taking the BAC shuttle from the conference venue to the welcome reception. VIP early badge pick-up will take place at the Dena’ina Convention Center (Ground Floor) from 3 pm - 5 pm on Tuesday, April 9.
Private BAC Shuttles will be provided to attending guests to transport them to and from the reception. BAC shuttles will be outside the Dena’ina Convention Center at 4:30 pm at 600 W 7th Avenue. Shuttles will begin transporting guests back to the Dena’ina Convention Center at 7 pm. Guests will then walk a short distance to their respective hotels from the convention center. Please look for the large black shuttle buses with “BAC” printed on the sides.
Please note that this is an invite-only event, and your invitation is nontransferable other than submitting an RSVP for colleagues affiliated with your group attending Arctic Encounter or affiliated with the sponsoring entity you represent. Please e-mail info@arcticencounter.com if you have questions about this invitation or the reception. Thank you!
Designed by Alaska Native artist, Crystal Worl, whose work explores the relationships and bonds connecting her people, the land and the native animals of Alaska—this is the first livery in a domestic airline fleet to have the name of the plane in an Alaska Native language. The aircraft is called X̱áat Ḵwáani, which means “Salmon People” in the Alaskan Tlingit language. A fundamental belief of Native culture is that everything within the world and universe has a spirit. Xáat Kwáani means “Salmon People” in the Alaskan Tlingit language and refers to the spiritual link between the people who interact with the beloved salmon and all of us who benefit from their stewardship of the environment.
