COVID MITIGATION AT ARCTIC ENCOUNTER 2022
COVID MITIGATION
The Arctic Encounter welcomes participants from many countries, states, and communities across Alaska. In order to safeguard the health and safety of participants to the best of our abilities, we've partnered with Fairweather LLC as our 2022 COVID-19 testing partner. All guests and participants will be administered a rapid test upon arrival at the venue on both days of the Symposium. Registration is required for all attendees and one rapid test per day is included in the registration for every guest. Testing will not be an additional cost to registrants.
Each day, upon receiving a negative test, guests will receive a specific wristband indicating their negative test result. This process will promote the best possible networking value and engagement at the Arctic Encounter. Guests who test positive will not be permitted to enter the event. Please arrive at least 20 minutes prior to the time at which you intend to enter the venue each day. Rapid tests will be administered on a first come first serve basis upon arrival at the venue. Please plan accordingly.
Please note additional COVID-19 considerations:
The Arctic Encounter strongly encourages participants flying to Anchorage for the Arctic Encounter to test for COVID-19 prior to departure from their point of origin.
The Arctic Encounter strongly encourages participants to mask while traveling to Anchorage to limit exposure and to wear masks inside and outside of the Arctic Encounter at any time.
Vaccination records are not required of participants but are recommended per CDC guidance.
At this time, the Arctic Encounter does not plan on requiring guests to wear masks at all times inside of the venues due to the required testing protocol. Venue staff will be masked throughout the events.
However, should a new variant become a major concern that increases community spread prior to the event, the Arctic Encounter will consult with medical experts and reserves the right to require masks for guests inside of the venue at all times unless they are eating, drinking, or speaking on stage.
If you are considered at high risk for COVID-19, we strongly urge you to consider whether participation is safe and appropriate. The Arctic Encounter cannot assume liability or risk in regards to contracting COVID-19 at Arctic Encounter events. Attendance is at your own risk.
