The Arctic Encounter's mission is to raise awareness for and about the Arctic region and the people who live there. We believe that there are many ways to do this, but one of the most compelling ways to educate people about the Arctic region is to learn and experience the rich and complex culture and art forms.

The Arctic Encounter is seeking artists and designers to participate in and/or exhibit their art work, designs, or other textile creations at the 6th annual convening in April 2019. We are open to individual artists or creative companies from the Arctic or any northern territory, including Alaska, the Canadian sub-Arctic, et cetera. Please do not hesitate to reach out regardless of your physical location - we are most interested in your story, technique, and inspiration.

Are you a performance artist? We'd like to know! Are you creating via inspiration from the Far North? We want to hear from you! This is an effort that is inclusive.

The Arctic Encounter will offer exhibit booths free of charge to interested artists on a first come first serve basis as part of the 2019 Arctic Encounter Artist-Designer Scholarship. The venue will permit artists and creators to sell all art work or textiles so long as nothing is consumable. The Arctic Encounter also wishes for 100% of proceeds to remain with the artist. This is our best attempt to include culture, to educate through the arts, and to inspire. Please note that making sales is optional but is a great way to engage with participants.

2018 Art Exhibitor participants and sales were represented by a diverse group of creators including painters, photographers, clothing designers and expert seamstresses, jewelry designers, kayak builders, wood carvers, singing performers, fiddle players, ivory carvers, and more.

Please note that the Arctic Encounter and the Bell Harbor International Conference Center will not accept any liability for the art works presented or sold. We will have a liability disclosure form for all artist exhibitors to sign prior to the start of the conference. Thank you for your understanding.

Please note that exhibit space is limited and scholarships will be granted on a first come first serve basis, based on diversity of exhibitors and representation of all Arctic states or northern regions.

We hope to hear from you! Please complete the form below to tell us more about you and your work. Thank you.
